FarmVille Barn Raising: Expand Your Storage!
We complained – Zynga listened! Well, at least about the lack of reasonable storage they did. As of an hour or so ago, FarmVille released the ability to host a Barn Raising; allowing you to increase the storage space in both your barns and your tool sheds.
Of interest to many as well, you will see in one of the pictures below that we will also be able to expand our Dairy Farms, Garden Sheds and….. Chicken Coops!
As you can see below, there are 3 levels to each expansion; giving you more room at each level. Here is what we know so far:
Barns:
Level 1 (Red Barn) – increases storage from 0 spots to 6 spots (your initial purchase)
Level 2 (Big Barn) – increases storage from 6 spots to 11 spots
Level 3 (Huge Barn) – increases storage from 11 spots to 18 spots
Tool Sheds:
Level 1 (Tool Shed) – increases storage from 0 spots to 2 spots (your initial purchase)
Level 2 (Big Shed) – increases storage from 2 spots to 7 spots
Level 3 (Huge Shed) – increases storage from 7 spots to 14 spots
To start a barn raising, simply click on your barn or tool shed and select Expand Storage. Select the building you wish to expand and it will post your Barn Raising event to your wall. Simply have 10 friends click the link within 3 days and voila! Your building is automatically expanded. Friends earn 100 coins for helping out, and you can watch your progress at any time by refreshing your farm and selecting the Expand Storage option again.

As nice as it is, there is no need to reply to every persons link with a comment or a link to your own raising.
If everyone posts once and people help a large group of posts above them, this will work a lot smoother than it is now.

For some reason after I did all this, the link/event thing asking for people to help me was not posted up on my wall or anywhere. I am not sure how I can get the link so I can post it myself or how to resend that I need people to help me.

Brittany, all you need to do is click the Give Up button on your Expand Storage tab, and then start the process over. I think FarmVille was having some posting issues last evening with all the people rushing to raise barns…lol.. Today should be a little better I hope

I am confused by the new storage additions. I sent the notice to my wall, and I got my ten people within twelve hours or so. Do I still have to wait three days for something to happen? Or is there something I am missing that I now need to do to make the enlargement happen? When I click on expand storage, it tells me I have 10 of 10, but gives me no option I see for “building” or actually making the expansion occur. Can you help me?
Exit FarmVille and reload the game and it will then show your new storage size. You don’t actually see the building of the barn, nor do you see a physical increase in the size of it. Only the amount you can store inside changes.
Please, seems that my “friends” don’t want to help me ;_;

I have the same problem as Wendy. I posted my barn raising last night(Fri). It’s a day later and now I can’t find my posting to repost it. I have 5 responses, but I need 5 more. How do I repost without losing the 5 people I already have?

It didn’t work for me. I got 10 helps, but it didn’t expand my barn. I only had the “give up” and “buy” options. when i hit “buy” it wanted 10 farmville cash, so i canceled it. that left me with nothing. I guess now I needed to close it and reopen to see if it’ll do it next time. meanwhile, i’ve started the process on my other barn.
Update on my previous post – now my barn has been expanded and i’m working on expanding the second barn. It just took a bit.

i published the post to help me out and then i deleted that barn coz i wanted a tool shed to be upgraded.
now i cant see any post of mine on my wall or even on my frnds wall and there is no button for either “give up” or “expand” not even “buy” is there.

Hey I have a big problem… I had a Tool ched. Then I published that i wanted help with it bla bla. But just after that I DEleted my tool ched…. and bough a Red barn. But when I go to storage there isn´t any Expand or give up button. It just stands expand storage 6 to 11 and nothing more, and I haven´t published anything from the red barn. just the tool ched I deleted right after…. what shall I do? I have alrdy sold my red barn and bough a new one 3 times but that doen´t work either. Did you try exiting your farm and then reloading? Sometimes it takes a refresh to show updated info.
