FrontierVille: Best FrontierVille Crops

Planting crops on your FrontierVille homestead is a valuable way to not only earn gold, but experience and food as well. As in any game, some crops are more valuable than others, but for different reasons. Once you decide if you want to level quickly, build up your gold faster, or stockpile food, use the chart below which details each FrontierVille crop as it is released.

Planting your crops requires no energy, which makes this a great tasks to complete before you are ready to sign off. Just remember to come back before they wither!

The wither time for a crop is twice what it takes to mature. Therefore, if a crop takes 1 hour to reach maturity, it will take 2 hours to wither after it reaches maturation. Once a crop has withered, you must clear or delete it. Clearing withered crops will not cost energy and you are refunded half the original cost.

It does cost 1 energy to harvest each planted crop. However, you are able to hire 2 neighbors each day to complete tasks around your homestead. Choosing 2 neighbors with a high reputation to harvest your crops for you, is a super way to save energy and still gain all the benefits of the crop being harvested.

Example: If you have a neighbor with a reputation level of 10, they are able to harvest 10 crops for you instantly.

NOTE: If you choose to hire a neighbor, be prepared to click fast on all the gold, food, and experience that pops out fast. You have only a few seconds before it all starts to disappear…

Note: Since you are able to hire neighbors to harvest your crops, we have assumed no energy cost to harvest in the calculations below. Keep this in mind when making your planting decisions.

Great post! I cleared out my plot of land and I am now working on the crops to bump up my level… How do you get the paint and the hand tools Is that only by friends? You have built your general store already did you buy the equipment with the horseshoes or did you have your neighbors help you out?

I received all of my general store items, except for 2 paint cans, from neighbors. I am now working on the barn, and refuse to use horseshoes for the supplies this time..lol.. I will wait until I have received them all from friends. Hopefully neighbors will realize the benefit of sending the supplies, and ribbon, versus sending snacks, goats, or trees. The supplies are vital in moving onto the next quest.

I’ve noticed that clover is “lucky.” In addition to coins and XP, you get random bonuses. Sometimes food, sometimes energy, but always something useful. I’m using clover for almost all my crops right now…

You might want to update the food bonus in the crop chart. They cut the amount of food each crop gives in half. And tomatoes no longer give any food at all.

How do you send gifts to your friends? I’ve tried going to the gift page and clicked on Frontier Ville Friends and there is no one there. I’ve tried the other two same thing. It states at the bottom if you don’t see any names then have already sent your friends gifts. But I have not sent anyone any gifts. My friends are sending me gifts every day but I’ve not been able to send gifts to my friends.

That is how you send gifts. I have not heard of anyone else having that same problem so am not sure what to suggest to help… Sorry!
