FrontierVille: New Limit of 10 Wall Bonuses Per Day
We are unsure if this is only temporary or permanent, but FrontierVille has implemented a new limit to how many items and bonuses you can collect from your wall each day.
Currently, the maximum is now only 10 items. This includes Food, Experience, Tools, Energy and other gifts. Once you reach the limit, you will receive a message such as:
Sorry, Pardner! You’ve collected all the XP you can today.
Until we know more, we recommend being selective about what you choose to collect on, based on what your current needs are within the game.
UPDATE: June 18, 2010 7:30pm
The 10 limit has been lifted and we are now allowed to collect 30 wall items per day!
It would be nice if i could at least collect 10 items off my wall but the past 2 days i haven’t been able to collect any. Says I’ve collected all i can for the day. I like the game but this is getting upsetting as people send me tools and i can’t even collect them
Zynga CEO Mark Pincus: “Frontierville Is The Most Successful Launch We’ve Ever Had”
I’m a bit annoyed. It’s just one week since the game started and Zynga has made 2 MAJOR changes to the game. Time to refill energy is increased by 40% (a change on the 14th increasing the timer from 3 minutes to 5 minutes) and now the feed collection rate from unlimited snags a day to 10 TOTAL!
Yet supposedly they spent more money developing this game than any other Zynga game. Was it part of the market study to sucker us in and then change the rules? I bet it was.
$38,500 per day. That is the estimated amount of revenue that Zynga makes just by traffic to their games and website per day. I’m not sure how much they make from farm cash, mafia money, etc, but I’m sure not buying any horseshoes and maybe I’ll just boycott my Zynga games for a while. The internet has quite a selection of games from other game sites. Maybe it’s time to leave the field unplanted, let the wild spread over the ol’ homestead and visit other gaming sites.
I have to agree with you about the limit and energy bar refill issues, but the figures you posted about ad revenue are most likely incorrect. Those figures are assumptions of estimated contextual ad revenue, based on sites with similar traffic. I know for a fact Zynga does not have any contextual ads, nor any other kind of ad service anywhere on their site. They do not want to lose visitors to competition.
Now that does not go to say that they don’t make a bundle of players daily. But, that revenue stream would be purely from the purchasing of the virtual currency.
Just as an example, I entered our thefacebookinsider.com domain into comjuice.com as a test. It claims I should be making $74/day in contextual ad revenue. Well, all I can say is “I wish!!” I don’t do $74/day combined in any revenue, let alone contextual ads only…lol
I beg to differ. They receive revenue from the offers on their Marketplace. Try Netflix for a month, Columbia house, book of the month, etc etc. I doubt they are giving the player free reward points, farmville cash, etc for these memberships if they aren’t getting a percentage. Although their revenue from these sources has probably gone down somewhat after being forced to take down so many of the scammy offers they used to run.
True! I had forgotten about the CPA offers. So you are correct about additional revenue, but those are not contextual ads, so the initial figure you posted was still an assumption.
Well…. it seems that this was a part of the plan all along… to get us hooked onto these games and then limit us to how many times we can play them… Oh well… It was fun while it lasted. Perhaps they are just tired of having to deal with all the maintenance on the games… Back to playing ps3 and computer games…
